Little PAWS Rescue
Dear friends, supporters and followers,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Little PAWS Rescue Perth has decided to close its doors. This was certainly not an easy decision to make, by any means. Over the last six years we have achieved some wonderful things within the rescue, nearly 400 rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice rescued (and one duck!) and over $200,000 raised and put towards their care and aid. Thousands and thousands of hours volunteered has achieved this, and a huge amount of blood sweat and tears.
To the businesses who have helped us along the way – in particular The Unusual Pet Vets, Walker Wayland and K9 Kate, who have supported us from the beginning – thank you for believing in us, for supporting us, and for doing your part in building this rescue to what it is today.
To all our wonderful supporters, donors, adopters, followers and everyone who has helped and supported us over the years, we say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have done. We have always had such a loyal and dedicated following, and we thank you so much for always sticking by us, and for helping us find homes for our animals.
To our volunteers and foster carers, both past and present – THANK YOU, so so much. This journey, these achievements – it would never have happened without you. We are so grateful for all the time, hardwork and dedication you have shown to this rescue, and all the kindness you have shown to our animals.
Our priority at the moment will be to rehome the remainder of our animals, but as of now we will no longer be taking in any more surrenders. Moving on from here, physical assets will be distributed to various rescues and the financial assets will be put towards the Community Rescue Surgery Clinic, so that Dr Chris and his team can continue to provide discounted veterinary services to rescues groups for all animals in Perth.
One parting message, we pleased to tell you that our fabulous mascot Bonnie has retired from her duties, and is now living the luxurious life of a free range house bunny. She would like to thank everyone for all the head pats she has received over the past almost 5 years, the gifts she has been given which let’s face it have all be destroyed, and for all the love you have shown to her friends that she shared her home with.
Thank you everyone for joining us on this enormous journey. And thank you to all the beautiful creatures we have met along the way, who will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
With warmest regards, Chris, Renae, Bonnie…and the entire and dedicated team at Little PAWS Rescue Perth.
